Self-Portrait Process Post

During this process, I had to allow myself to make mistakes. This art piece challenged me to focus on the larger picture instead of minute details. I had to change my view from looking at each and every detail to zooming out and thinking of this art piece in terms of large values to help bring it together. Another part of this was understanding value correctly and connecting that piece to the original artist. I think my largest connection to Rembrandt's artist mark came in towards the end of the project after taking the suggestion of adding the contrast line. Overall, this piece has affected my artistic process, teaching me to trust the process and look at the whole image.
